BERHAMPUR:On the eve of Kartika Purnima Monday in the early morning while IIC,Bada bazaar Prashant Bhupati along with ADI Aananta Sabar and staff were performing temple patrolling duties.
Unexpectedly they detected the veteran and wanted anti-social Pradeep Sahu of Prahallad Nagar who was caught raid handed while smuggling and transporting contraband Ganja in his Suzuki Scooter without displaying registration number plate.
Prabhat Routray, ASP said, he was caught near Maa Kuresuni Temple, near village Lathi road. While transporting illegal contraband Ganja with a two wheeler the police team on duty trap him and recovered total 31 Kgs Ganja in two bags from the possession of Pradeep and seized.
Notably, accused Pradeep Sahu (26) of 1st line Prahallad Nagar,under Bada Bazar police limit has involved in series of criminal cases and wanted in recent for cases. he added.
In this connection Bada Bazar police registered s case no 245/2020 u/s 20(b)(ii)(c)/25 NDPS act has and arrested. Sub Inspector Arjun Jena investigating and investigation is under way.
According to Routray series of cases pending in his name in different police stations under Berhampur police district.
