ROURKELA:Covid-19 cases have been increasing day by day in India and for sure it is alarming. As per the reports single day Covid-19 cases is figured 13,586 is simply going tougher day by day. Since last eight days number of positive cases per day is more than 10000 and this increase in numbers are mostly from five states Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. As per ICMR, a cumulative of 64,26,627 samples have been tested up to 18th June. And numbers of tests per day is increasing to trace the corona positive. Today there are 336 casualties have been reported totaling the death tally to 12,573 as per the data of Union Health ministry.
Maharashtra is the worst victim of corona. As per the present data India is the fourth worst hit nation after the Russia, Brazil and US, Now many of our politicians questioning whether lock-down was required or not. If the decision was the correct one then why this much infection was identified and if we could manage to contain corona positive cases because of this then why we are not imposing lick-down now for some time. It is quite obvious this is a matter of debate. Anyways, the key challenged are to trace the corona positive patients by testing in large numbers and to maintain social distancing and to cover face with mask or other means where a person can be comfortably breath. The major issues are seen in many states where corona positive cases have spiked because of the migrant laborers when they back to the home state. There were no tests conducted before allowing them to board train or busses and were allowed to move to their places without completing full quarantine period. Anyways, this is not the time for blame games but the fact of the matter is how to stop new positive cases and to stop community spread. If this will go to the level of community spread then the situation will be out of control and we do not have that infrastructure to handle this massive task. The onus is on everyone whether infected or not. We must care for our fellow citizen and take all precautionary measures while going out for our work or to acquire essential items.
