Rayagada, October 30: Direct financial assistance under the 24th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was transferred to farmers nationwide by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Banaskantha, Gujarat. Commemorating the disbursal, the district administration organized the ‘PM-Kisan Utsav Diwas’ at the Rayagada Zilla Parishad conference hall.

The district-level convention drew around 100 progressive farmers from various blocks, who gathered to watch the live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s address alongside district leadership and agricultural scientists.

In Rayagada, 50,963 registered farmers received the latest financial assistance directly credited to their bank accounts. Beyond the district headquarters, awareness drives and PM-Kisan Diwas observances were held concurrently across blocks and gram panchayats, witnessing widespread rural participation. The convention was led by senior district officials and agricultural experts, including Ashutosh Kulkarni, Collector, Bidyadhar Sabar, Chairperson, Special Development Council (SDC), Nakshatra Mohan Roul, Chief District Agriculture Officer (CDAO), Scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) alongside block- and district-level agriculture officials.

Addressing the state-level function at the Krushi Shiksha Sadan of OUAT, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi underscored the integration of the ‘AgriStack’ digital public infrastructure.

The Chief Minister highlighted that future disbursals under PM-KISAN and other agricultural welfare schemes will be routed exclusively through the AgriStack Farmer ID. All eligible farmers across the state, including Rayagada, have been urged to complete their Aadhaar-linked digital registration promptly to prevent disruption in the direct benefit transfer (DBT) cycle. The initiative aims to expand digital governance, streamline institutional credit access, and eliminate intermediaries from agricultural support systems.
