Angul. 08/10/26:The Angul Drugs Department and the police administration jointly conducted raids on pharmacies, private nursing homes, and hospitals across various police station areas in the district.

Officials carried out detailed inspections, specifically checking for valid registration licenses, documentation, the presence of pharmacists, records of medicine purchases and sales, and ensuring the sale of high-quality medicines at appropriate prices.

Special attention was paid to ensuring that patients receive high-quality medicines at fair prices; consequently, raids were conducted in areas such as Angul Sadar, NALCO Nagar, Bantala, Talcher, and Banarpal within Angul district.

During these operations, the State Government’s Drug Control Department advised retail and wholesale medicine dealers against selling intoxicating drugs to the local youth and instructed them to dispense medicines only to genuine patients upon verifying the doctor’s prescription and retaining an exact copy of it. Police officers and personnel—including Drugs Inspector Smt. Manaswini Biswal of the Drugs Department (Angul Range-1) and Drugs Inspector Sourav Gautam of Angul Range-2—participated in this raid; the Drugs Department, Angul, was commended for this initiative aimed at realizing a drug-free Angul district and a drug-free India.
