Rayagada, October 7: The funeral pyre was lit on the birthday of martyr V. Teja. Throughout his life, he had meticulously planned every significant endeavor, worked hard, and achieved success. Inspired by seeing personnel from the CRPF 4th Battalion near his residence, he resolved to serve the nation. Accordingly, he prepared himself for national service, appeared for the entrance examination to join the Indian Armed Forces, and succeeded. V. Teja joined the Assam Rifles. Having dreamt of serving the country after observing CRPF personnel from his small grocery shop, Teja was posted in Nagaland as part of the Indian armed forces.

After falling in love with a young woman, their wedding had been fixed for December 10 with the consent of both families. Almost all preparations for the wedding were nearly complete. He had also constructed a new house prior to the marriage. Destiny, however, had other plans. After joining service in 2022, Martyr Teja had signed a pledge to donate his organs. Following his martyrdom on Monday, vital organs were harvested at a nearby hospital. While he immortalized himself through organ donation, the golden dreams he envisioned for his personal life remained unfulfilled.

Seeing his mortal remains, the tears of his parents, family members, and local residents have not ceased. Mortal remains were taken to the Siriguda cremation ground in a massive procession. Martyred while on duty in Nagaland, he was accorded a Guard of Honour at his residence. During the ceremony, Rayagada District Collector Ashutosh Kulkarni, Superintendent of Police Raj Prasad, MLA Appala Swamy Kadraka, and thousands of citizens were present to pay their tributes to his mortal remains. His dead body was brought from his residence to the cremation ground located at Siriguda in a massive funeral procession. On his 31st birthday, the funeral pyre was lit, and his mortal body was consigned to the flames forever. Martyr Teja fulfilled the dream he envisioned for the nation, but the dreams he held for himself remained incomplete.
