Two Accused Convicted in B. Sadar P.S. Case

Berhampur, 09.09.2026: In a significant outcome of trial, the Hon’ble J.M.F.C. (Rural), Berhampur has convicted two accused persons in connection with B. Sadar P.S. Case No. 185 dated 30.08.2017, corresponding to G.R. Case No. 996/2017, registered under Section 394 of the IPC.
The convicted persons are:
1. Babu @ Santosh Kumar Behera (37), S/o Rama Chanda Behera, of Jhadankuli Majhi Sahi, P.S. B. Sadar, District Ganjam.
2. Sairam Mahapatra @ Mantu (25), S/o Late Ananta Mahapatra, of Rampa Sahi, Gate Bazar, P.S. B. Town, District Ganjam.
The Hon’ble Court sentenced both convicts to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for 3 (three) years and to pay a fine of ₹10,000/- each. In default of payment of fine, each convict shall undergo RI for one month.
The conviction reflects the sustained efforts of B. Sadar Police and the prosecution in ensuring effective investigation and successful prosecution of criminal cases.
