Self-Defence Training Concludes with a Call for Women’s Empowerment at Rayagada Autonomous College

Rayagada, August 25 : The closing ceremony of the Self-Defence Training Programme, organised in collaboration with the Shaktishree Cell of Rayagada Autonomous College, Rayagada, was held successfully on the college premises.
The six-day programme was organised with the objective of empowering girl students with essential self-defence skills, confidence and awareness for their personal safety.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Saraswati Ray, Principal in the presence of Ms. T. Jyoti, Administrative Bursar, and Mr. Ramesh Ch. Huika, Academic Bursar. Master Trainers Ms. Sanjana Naik and Ms. Richa Singh provided practical training and demonstrated various self-defence techniques to the participating students.
Introducing the programme, Dr. Liza Rani Sathpathy, Shaktishree Coordinator , highlighted the importance of self-defence education for young women. Ms. Monalisa Panigrahi, Self-Defence Coordinator, and Sruti Deepali Samal, Shaktishree Co-coordinator also contributed actively to the successful organisation of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Saraswati Ray appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the girl students and emphasised that self-defence is not only about physical strength but also about confidence, awareness and the courage to respond appropriately in challenging situations. She encouraged the students to practise the techniques regularly and become confident, alert and responsible individuals. She further stated that educational institutions have an important role in creating a safe and empowering environment for women and that such programmes should continue in the future. A large number of girl students participated enthusiastically in the training programme and benefited from the practical sessions conducted by the master trainers. The students expressed that the programme enhanced their confidence and awareness regarding personal safety.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Mirza Khasim Bibi, Self-Defence Co-coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, administrative and academic authorities, master trainers, Shaktishree Cell members, coordinators, faculty members and students for their valuable support and cooperation in making the programme successful.
