NTPC TALCHER THERMAL ORGANISES SAFETY LEADERSHIP BOOT CAMP TO STRENGTHEN SAFETY CULTURE

Talcher:NTPC Talcher Thermal organised a two-day Safety Leadership Bootcamp from 21 to 22 August 2026 on the theme “Step Forward: Safety Leadership in Action”, aimed at strengthening leadership capabilities and fostering a strong safety culture at the project site

The programme was formally inaugurated by Shri Vijay Chand, Executive Director, NTPC Talcher Thermal, in august presence Praveer Kumar, GM (Project) Sri. Rakesh Kumar, GM (O&M), Sri. Rohit Kumar AGM (HR) Sri. B. Majhi, PD/GM (BHEL), and all HODs. The programme was conducted under Supervision of Certified trainer, Ms Sonal Nangia, from Mumbai.

The bootcamp featured interactive and engaging learning exercises designed to provide participants with practical insights into the principles of safety leadership. The sessions emphasised the importance of leading by example, effective communication, clarity of roles and responsibilities, collaboration and trust in building a robust safety culture.

The programme is a key initiative towards building and strengthening the capabilities of leaders to effectively drive safety at every level and achieve the shared goal of Zero Harm while ensuring successful project completion. It also highlighted the crucial role of EICs and leaders in shaping the safety mindset and behaviour of the workforce, as the actions, attitudes and commitment demonstrated by leaders have a direct influence on the safety behaviour of employees.

The learnings from the bootcamp are expected to further strengthen the safety culture at the site, enhance overall safety performance and encourage leaders and employees to take a proactive approach towards safety. The initiative reinforces NTPC Talcher Thermal’s commitment to making Safety Leadership a visible and sustained practice in action.
