WSC, Signs 25 MoUs, Felicitates Skill Development Partners to Strengthen Youth Employability in Odisha
ITIs, Polytechnics, DSDEOs and DCPOs Felicitated for Contribution to Skill Development Initiatives
Bhubaneswar, 21 August 2026: The World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar, organised an MoU Signing-cum-Felicitation Ceremony on Friday to strengthen institutional collaboration and expand opportunities for advanced skill development, industry-aligned training and youth employability in Odisha.
As part of the programme, the Center signed 25 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with government and private engineering colleges and universities. These partnerships will support collaboration in advanced skill development training, academic cooperation, employment opportunities, Training of Trainers (ToT), research and development, and youth empowerment.
By bringing together WSC and leading academic and technical institutions, the initiative aims to create stronger pathways for students to acquire future-ready skills and improve their career prospects.
The programme featured an awareness session on Odisha Skills Competition 2026–27, encouraging participating institutions to facilitate wider participation of talented youth in the State’s flagship skill competition. The session highlighted the opportunities available through skills competitions to help young people demonstrate excellence, gain recognition and pursue further avenues for professional growth.
As part of the ceremony, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Polytechnics were felicitated for their contribution towards advanced skill development training programmes. Their efforts in connecting students with specialised skill development opportunities were recognised as an important part of strengthening the state’s skill ecosystem.
District Skill Development Officers (DSDEOs) and District Child Protection Officers (DCPOs) were recognised for their support in facilitating students from different districts and promoting participation in WSC’s skill development initiatives.
The event was attended by Shri Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, CEO, WSC; Shri Sukant Kumar Pradhan, Additional Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education Department, Government of Odisha; Dr. Subhanga Kishore Das, Principal, WSC, along with other senior management officials of WSC and representatives from participating institutions.
The expanded institutional partnerships are expected to strengthen the connection between education and employment while creating greater access to advanced training and career-oriented opportunities for Odisha’s youth. Through such collaborations, WSC continues to contribute towards building a skilled, competitive and future-ready workforce for the state.
