Special Drive Against Child Labour: 13 Minor Boys Rescued, 11 Cases

Brahmapur, August 22, 2026: In a major special drive against child labour, Brahmapur Police rescued 13 minor boys and registered 11 cases across six police stations in the city and surrounding areas.

The special operation was conducted under the leadership of Addl. SP Kailash Buruda, with the participation of DySP Smruti Prava, Inspector Saubagya Swain, and Inspector Santhosh Behera.

During the drive, police teams conducted inspections at various establishments and rescued minors who were allegedly being employed in violation of child labour laws. The rescued children have been produced before the appropriate authorities for necessary care, protection and rehabilitation.

Legal action is being initiated against the persons found employing the minors, in accordance with the relevant provisions of law.

The police station-wise details are as follows:

  • Brahmapur Town PS: 3 cases registered; 3 minor boys rescued.
  • Bada Bazar PS: 2 cases registered; 3 minor boys rescued.
  • Nimakhandi PS: 2 cases registered; 2 minor boys rescued.
  • Digapahandi PS: 1 case registered; 1 minor boy rescued.
  • Gopalpur PS: 2 cases registered; 3 minor boys rescued.
  • BN Pur PS: 1 case registered; 1 minor boy rescued.

Police officials stated that such enforcement drives will continue to prevent the exploitation of children and ensure their protection, rehabilitation and access to their rights
