Brahmapur, July 29: Berhampur’s B.N. Pur Police have arrested another accused in connection with the ongoing IPL Betting investigation into an organised illegal online IPL T-20 cricket betting racket.
The accused has been identified as Manoj Behera (25), son of Daitari Behera and a resident of Gaigotha Street under Badabazar Police Station limits in Berhampur.
The case was registered as B.N. Pur Police Station Case No. 207 dated April 30, 2026, under Sections 61(2), 297, 318(4), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), read with Sections 4 and 5 of the Prize Competitions (Banning) Act, 1978, Section 4 of the Public Gambling Act, 1867, and Sections 67(C) and 67(D) of the Information Technology Act.
According to police, during the investigation into the betting syndicate earlier unearthed under the leadership of Subham Pradhan, forensic analysis revealed that Manoj Behera was actively operating as a user/retailer in the illegal online betting network through the betting portal NOOR 333. Police said he allegedly used the mobile number 8917299591 and the user ID “11Monoj” to participate in the racket.
During the operation, investigators seized two high-end mobile phones from the accused’s exclusive possession—an iPhone 15 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Both devices have been sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for detailed digital forensic examination.
Manoj Behera was arrested on July 28, 2026, and produced before the competent court on July 29, 2026.
Police said the investigation is continuing to identify other members of the organised betting network and trace its financial and digital links.
