Jindal Foundation Inaugurates Community Hospital, Consecrates Deveshwar Mahadev Temple at Deojhar

Joda/Badabil, July 22: Reinforcing its commitment to inclusive and sustainable community development, Jindal Foundation, the social responsibility arm of Jindal Steel, inaugurated the 25-bedded Jindal Aarogyam Community Hospital and performed the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav of the Deveshwar Mahadev Temple at Deojhar in Badabil of Kendujhar district on the auspicious occasion of Hera Panchami.
The twin initiatives were inaugurated by Smt. Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation, in the presence of Padma Shri Tulasi Munda, senior company officials, public representatives and members of the local community.
The newly established Jindal Aarogyam Community Hospital is designed to provide affordable and quality healthcare services to tribal and rural communities in the region. The 25-bed facility is equipped with modern medical infrastructure and offers treatment in General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Paediatrics, with specialist consultation available in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Dentistry, Gastroenterology and Ophthalmology.
The hospital also features a fully equipped operation theatre, diagnostic facilities and 24×7 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) ambulance services, ensuring timely emergency medical care. In line with the Foundation’s commitment to equitable healthcare, free consultation and medical treatment will be provided to economically weaker and socially vulnerable patients.
Alongside the healthcare initiative, the Deveshwar Mahadev Temple was consecrated to promote spiritual values, preserve India’s rich cultural heritage and strengthen community harmony. The temple is expected to become a major centre for worship, religious festivals and cultural activities for residents of surrounding villages.
Addressing the gathering, Smt. Shallu Jindal said that Jindal Foundation believes holistic development is achieved when healthcare, education, livelihood and spiritual well-being progress together. She stated that the community hospital would make quality healthcare accessible to those who need it most, while the temple would stand as a symbol of faith, hope and social harmony. She described the twin initiatives as an embodiment of the Foundation’s philosophy of “Seva with Vishwas” and its commitment to improving the quality of life of underserved communities.
Padma Shri Tulasi Munda appreciated Jindal Foundation’s sustained contribution towards tribal welfare, particularly in education, healthcare and community development. She lauded the Foundation for creating inclusive opportunities for underprivileged sections of society and promoting sustainable social development.

K. Sharma, Vice President; Shri Satish Sinduria, Unit Head, Barbil Unit; Shri Rishi Pathania, CSR Head; Col. Gagandeep Kohli, Administration Head; senior officials from Badabil, Kasia, Tensa and Roida-I Iron Ore Mines, employees, local public representatives and community leaders.
The programme was successfully coordinated with the support of the Corporate Communication Department, CSR team led by Mr. Vargil Lakra, Medical Team headed by Col. Bijoya Mallick, and the Administration Team.
With the inauguration of the community hospital and the consecration of the temple, Jindal Foundation has taken another significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure, preserving cultural heritage and fostering inclusive development in the tribal-dominated region of Kendujhar.
