Maoists articles recovered from the concealed dump

Rayagada, June 14 : After sustained interrogation of surrendered Maoists, Rayagada Police obtained information regarding a concealed dump. Acting upon the said information, a search operation was launched in Dhepaguda reserve forest areas under Jagadalpur police outpost of Ambadola Police Station utilising DVF & SOG teams. During course of the search operation, the police teams located the dump sites.
Thereafter, adopting all necessary precautionary measures, the District Bomb Disposal Squad conducted a systematic search of the area to prevent probable planting of IED. The team successfully recovered the Maoists articles from the concealed dump last Saturday.
The articles included one 303 Rifle, 303 Ammunitions 37 rounds, empty 12 bore cartridge 10 nos, 303 Magazine 01, Pouch 01, Charger Clip 06 nos, Cordex wire 8 mtrs, Gun Powder 50 grams (Approx), Codex 5 Bundle, Maoist literature 2 nos, Chapal (plastic) 5 pairs, Umbrella 5 nos, Blanket 3 nos, Hair Oil 6 nos, Knife 4 nos, Salt 5 packets, Sugar 4 packets, Tea packets 7 nos, Amul packet 5 nos, Civil T- Shirt 6 nos, Comb 7 nos, Soap 5 nos & Dettol bottle 03 nos.
The recovered weapons, explosives and other incriminating materials belonged to the Maoists. In Rayagada district between January-2025 and 31-March-2026, 16 nos. dreaded Maoist have surrendered before Rayagada Police including State Committee Member Nikhil and Indu.
Combing and search operations are being carried out regularly in the area by SOG, DVF and CRPF to detect and recover the Maoists arms and other materials hidden in the dumps in order to prevent relapse of Maoist activity in future, said newly joined SP Raj Prasad during a press meet on last Sunday.
