Opening Ceremony of the 5th State Police Badminton Championship 2026-27 Held in Berhampur

Berhampur,(02/06/26):The opening ceremony of the 5th State Police Badminton Championship 2026-27 was held this morning at the Reserve Police Ground, Ambapua, Berhampur.
The annual state-level championship brings together police personnel from across Odisha for competitive badminton events.
Shri Niti Sekhar, IPS, I.G. of Police (SR), Berhampur attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the championship.
Dr. Saravana Vivek M, IPS, SP Berhampur was also present during the opening ceremony.
A total of 16 teams, including teams from different police ranges and battalions, are participating in the championship. The participating teams represent various units of the Odisha Police and will compete over the coming days.
The matches are being conducted across two venues in Berhampur to accommodate the large number of participants.
These include two badminton courts of the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC), the Sports Arena, and the UCP college Ground.
The distributed venue setup ensures smooth and simultaneous conduct of matches in different categories.
The championship is being organised under the overall supervision of the Berhampur Police and provides serving police personnel an opportunity to take part in organised sporting competition.
