A district-level coordination meeting of the Disaster Management Committee was held on Monday in Jajpur to review the supply situation of petrol and diesel in the district. The meeting was chaired by District Collector Ambar Kumar Kar.

Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Shibananda Swain, District Supply Officer Dillip Panigrahi, Market Inspectors, and representatives of various oil companies were present at the meeting.

The District Collector reviewed the current fuel supply status in the district, enquiring about available stock, the number of closed petrol pumps, and the district’s monthly fuel requirements. He also questioned why some petrol pumps remain closed after 8 PM.

Due to increased demand in the previous month, disruptions in fuel supply had occurred. Since Jajpur is a mining and industrial district, the demand for diesel is comparatively high.

According to oil company representatives, after recent difficulties in petrol supply, the situation has now returned to normal in the district. However, they stated that it may take some more time for diesel supply to improve.

The company representatives also informed that petrol and diesel are being supplied to ambulances and other emergency vehicles on priority.

The District Collector directed Market Inspectors and Tahasildars to inspect all filling stations and petrol pumps and continuously monitor the situation. The district administration has emphasized ensuring that the public does not face inconvenience due to fuel supply issues.
