Berhampur,(8/05/26):A young couple was brutally assaulted in the middle of Giri Road in Berhampur.
The attack, carried out by two men using bamboo sticks and bats, stemmed iron rod ,from an ongoing rivalry and prior enmity. Police have registered a case and are actively tracking down the identified assailants.

The victims, identified as Umesh Rath from the Bijipur area under Town Police Station limits and a young woman, were riding a motorcycle when they were intercepted and attacked.
According to police sources, the assault stemmed from prior enmity. Bystanders watched as the couple was dragged down and beaten mercilessly while lying on the ground amid passing vehicles and onlookers.
