BJP,National President Nitin Nabin Arrives in Odisha on Two-Day Visit Welcomed by Chief Minister

Bhubaneswar,( 17/05/26):In a significant boost to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Odisan organisational push in, National President Nitin Nabin landed in Bhubaneswar Biju Patnaik,International airport on Sunday night, marking his maiden visit to the state since assuming the party’s top post.

Accompanied by his wife and two sons, Nabin touched down at Biju Patnaik International Airport around 10:30 PM. He was warmly received by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CMs Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo & Pravati Parida, state BJP president Manmohan Samal, national in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, and a host of senior leaders, including Union Minister Jual Oram, MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Dilip Ray, Ministers Prithiviraj Harichandan, and Suresh Pujari, among others.
From the airport, the national president was escorted to the State Guest House, where he will spend the night. Party leaders and workers had gathered in large numbers to greet him, reflecting the excitement within the ranks following the BJP’s historic victory in the 2024 Odisha Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted the enthusiasm among workers from the booth level to the Chief Minister’s office. “This is a very important visit. Everyone is happy and energised,” she said, adding that Nabin will attend the district-level training camp and interact with leaders.
Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi noted that the visit comes at a crucial time with upcoming panchayat and municipal elections. “He will guide our leaders and workers in Jatni and hold discussions with state office-bearers on future strategies,” she added

Packed Schedule on Monday
On Monday, May 18, Nabin’s day begins early with a State Core Committee meeting at the party’s state office around 8:30 AM. He will then proceed to the Asian Institute of Physical Health (AIPH) University campus in Jatni to formally inaugurate the district-level Pandit Deendayal Prashikshan Maha Abhiyan-2026 training camp organised by the Bhubaneswar organisational district.
Post the organisational events, the BJP chief will travel to Puri for darshan of Lord Jagannath and partake in Mahaprasad at the Puri MP’s residence. Upon returning to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon, he will chair important meetings with state office-bearers, morcha presidents, and the Council of Ministers.
Nabin is expected to hold extensive discussions on strengthening the party at the grassroots, booth management, and election preparedness for the upcoming local body polls.
The two-day visit will conclude on Monday evening with Nabin flying back to Delhi.
This maiden visit is being seen as a major step in consolidating BJP’s organisational structure in Odisha and injecting fresh momentum into the party machinery under the new national leadership. Party workers are viewing it as a clear signal of the high priority being given to Odisha in the national scheme of things.
