Bendalia Village Major attempt to Murder Case Avoided and Closed; All Absconded accused persons arrested with weapons used
Berhampur,(13/05/2):On the basis of the written complaint of Ranjan Sethi (33) S/O Kailash Sethi of Village. Bendalia, the above case was registered on 12.05.2026 at 12.50 PM.
During investigation it came to light that due to previous rivalry between accused Sibasankar Sahu @ Bhalu and injured Pinku Sethi, the three accused persons (1) Sibasankar Sahu @ Bhalu (25) of Vill. Bendalia, (2) Sibaram Pradhan @ Raja (20) of Village Kumarpur, Raut @ Mithun (24) of Village. Berhampur, Ist Gate, Kashinagar Sahi, under Bada Bazar PS,, waylaid injured Pinku Sethi near Chuna Bhati Sankha on 12.05.2026 at 05.30 AM while he was proceeding towards Kukudakhandi on his bike.
Accused persons stopped his way and brutally assaulted him with iron swords (Kati) with an intention to kill.
The trio accused persons were arrested on 13.05.2026 at 12.30 PM.
The involved Honda Shine motorcycle bearing Regd. No. OD 07AZ 3803 and 3 iron Katis have been seized. Confessional statement of accused Sibasankar Sahu @ Bhalu has been recorded.
The arrested accused have been forwarded to the Hon’ble Court on the same day.
The police assure the public that they are vigilant and committed to maintaining further law and order in the area.
The incident occurred on the outskirts of Berhampur Bendalia village near a bridge. The helping eyewitnesses who were out for morning walk have been identified which lead to police to foil within 72 hours.
Notably soon after the incident by getting the information SP, along with SDPO,Sadar rush to the crime spot taken ground stock information with locals from spot SP Berhampur a communicated the experts immediately to have have intensify patrolling in the area.
Subsequently in his presence made arrangement to shift injured to hospital by his younger brother. No doubt he sustained injuries on both hands and head.
After preliminary treatment at MKCG Hospital, he has been referred to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. His condition is stable now.
The accused persons have absconded from the spot.
