To Facilitate more train communication between Mumbai and Bhubaneswar via Secunderabad.
Talcher:The Bombay Oriya Mahasangh is an oldest public welfare organisation situated in Mumbai are conducting so many welfare activities for the people staying in Mumbai from Odisha state.
About 15 lakhs migrated Odias are presently residing in Mumbai to earn their Livelihood. Majority of them are belonging to Southern part of Odisha specifically from Ganjam/Gajapati/Puri Districts and it is a persistent request from all Odias of Mumbai since long to improve communication between Mumbai to Bhubaneswar via Secunderabad.
In this modern advanced era, Indian Railways Administration has introduced number of Tejas / Vande Bharat trains by running at an average speed of 100 kmph, but presently the trains running between Mumbai and Bhubaneswar via Secunderabad, Konark Express takes 32 hours in its journey from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar where as 37 hours in return direction by running at an average speed, less than 55 kmph.
Further it is requested to increase the average speed of Konark Express(11019/11020) from 55kmph to 70 kmph on both directions, the running time will be same.
The speed of Train No 11019/11020 (Konark Express) which runs on an average speed of less than 55kmph be increased to at least on an average speed of 70 kmph and on both directions speed should ra Previously 2nos. of second AC coaches was there in Konark Express, now it reduced to one coach, as a result the travellers are not getting proper reserved seats and it is very expensive to travel through air.
It is well known to all that thousands of people are coming Mumbai mostly for health issues, not to get travelling facilities by train they are compelled to travel through air.
The president of Bombay Oriya Mahasangh Dr. Bipin Mishra demanded through this memorandum that the Eco Railways must take this issue urgently for the benefit of Odisha people through the honorable chief minister, Odisha and also requested the chief minister to interfere in this sensitive issue by providing super fast express trains and other trains from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar via secunderabad reached within 24 hours, it may save the precious time of the travellers end.
The vice presidents B.K.Panigrahi, IRPS (Retd.) Manoranjan Nayak, Secretary Krushna Chandra Mishra, Joint Secretary Manoj Nayak, Manoj Patra, Secretary PR Deepak Sahu, Nirmal Mishra, Patron Members Saroj Biswal Sachita nanda Mohanty Ranjan Roy singned over the memorandum and requested the chief minister of Odisha to make appropriate arrangement for a solution by his office to Ministry of lndian Railways for availing train facilities from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai and vice versa towards Odia society residing in Mumbai.
