Varanaseya Utkal Samaj Celebrated Pakhala Dibasa

The Varanaseya Utkal Samaj (VUS) celebrated Pakhala Dibasa 2026 with great enthusiasm and community participation on Sunday.
The event witnessed an impressive gathering of around 270 participants, including members of the Odia community and their guests.
The celebration highlighted the rich culinary heritage of Odisha, with participants relishing traditional Pakhala along with its customary accompaniments, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
This marked the first-ever Pakhala Dibasa celebration organized by the Varanaseya Utkal Samaj, making the occasion particularly significant for the Odia diaspora in Varanasi. The event served as a platform to promote cultural bonding and introduce non-Odia participants to the unique flavors and traditions of Odisha.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to all participants for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Anirban Parida, assistant secretary, VUS emphasized that such initiatives strengthen community ties and help preserve and promote Odia culture beyond the state.
