JKPUR:- Single-use plastic has emerged as a serious crisis on the surface of the Earth

Jaykaypur :The presence of micro plastics has been found in deep oceans, remote mountain regions, and even inside the human body.
A large quantity of single-use plastic accumulating on the Earth’s surface is creating environmental pollution and severely affecting both wildlife and human life.
Under its CSR initiatives, JK Paper Mills has been organizing various awareness programmes with a focus on education and environmental protection. In this context, an awareness campaign was conducted for 4,060 students from 23 schools with the objective of reducing the use of plastic, especially single-use plastic, in daily life.
The theme of this year’s “World Environment Day” is “Beat Plastic Pollution.” Based on this theme, awareness sessions have already been conducted in various schools, and the campaign will continue in the coming months with the aim of covering more students. In this context, an awareness session was organized today at Matikana High School premises. Mr. Dillip Kumar Tripathy, Manager (Quality), participated as the resource person and sensitized the students. The programme was supported by the Headmaster, Mr. Chandan Kumar Nayak, and other teaching staff of the school.
Awareness sessions conducted in other schools were led by officials of JK Paper Mills including Mr. G.S. Pattnaik, General Manager (QA & TS); Mr. Yashwant Singh, DGM (Technology Development); Mr Sushanta Nayak, Sr Manager (QC)Mr. Dillip Kumar Tripathy, Manager (Quality); Mr. R.S. Pattnaik, Manager (Environment); Ms. Madhusmita Padhi, Assistant Manager (Technology Development); Ms. Tanmaya Jani, Assistant Manager (Technology Development); Mr. Harihar Khamari, Deputy Manager (CSR); Mr. Durga Prasad Rana, Officer (Electrical Department); Mr. Prakash Sahu, Deputy Manager (Paper Converting); Mr. Lingaraj Bishoi, Officer (Raw Materials); and Mr. Sunil Pradhan, Deputy Director, Pulp and Paper Research Institute, Jaykaypur, who participated as resource persons in nearby high schools.
The entire programme was coordinated by Mr. Brahmananda Mohapatra, Officer, CSR Department.
