NOBAL INITIATIVE OF PREM TO SAVE PEOPLE’S LIFE AND LIVELIHOOD DURING CORONA PANDEMIC

Berhampur 24/5/2020. PREM is a leading voluntary organization of Berhampur working since may 2020, to encourage the dreaded CORONA Virus and to save people’s life and livelihood of the migrants and resource center Bharat Mata at R.Sitapur near Parlakhemundi for using as a 150 bedded COVIND19 Hospital as per the request of the District Administration of Gajapati for the benefit of the general public. Besides, PREM,in collaboration with Ajzim Premji Philanthropic initiative,has come to the humanitarian aid of migrant labourers and families coming under BPL from Goudagotha panchyat and Asurbandha panchyats of Surada block belonging to Ganjam District. 1200 households from Goudagotho and 400 from Asurbandha have been provided with kits of mask,soap,5kilos flour, 2kilos Dal,1kg each flattened rice, soyatin meal maker, sugar,1liter of oil and spice power. The work has been accomplished in the presence and support of Mr. Purna Chandra Swain, the local MLA,Suroda and the Vice Chairman of Suroda Block.
For the proper implementation of the Government Programme ‘SUGAM’ for the returnees migrants coming from the different states, PREM has taken steps by providing dry foods and water bottles etc to the migrants at the bus stop of National Highway, Mandiapalli Chowk with the support of different NGOs-ARUNA,YDS, and I SARA in collaboration with of District Administration, DRDA, Ganjam since 18th May of this month. More then five hundred migrants are getting benefits form this nobal work of PREM everyday. In addition to the above, PREM in collaboration with Missio International, a funding agency of Germany is also providing dry foods and sanitary items to the migrants, families of trolley rickshaw puller of railway station during this crucial period. Due to the nobal work of PREM, all migrants are getting benefited during their journey time and the peoples are praising the nobal work of PREM during this Corona Pandemic situation.
