Odisha:Gopalpur Beach Festival likely from Jan 22

Berhampur,( 03/01.2026):The Preparations for the much-awaited Gopalpur Beach Festival 2026 were reviewed on Saturday at a preparatory meeting held at special conference hall in Berhampur. The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Minister for Commerce, Transport, Mines and Steel, Shri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.

In this meeting from district administration side Collector Ganjam V.Keerthi Vasan, Sub Collector,Berhamour ,Mr. Avinash Kumar,BeMC,Commisioner, ,Mr.Prathamesh Aravind Rajsirke, Berhampur Superintendent of Police Dr.Saravana Vivek,M,Senior officials of Ganjam district administration, Mr.Krushna Chandra Nayak,MLA,Chatrapur and Er.Uma Shankar Panigrahy,President, Ganjam Dist.Hotel Association were present at the meeting.
Informing about the festival Minister, Jena said special attention is to be given to promote the festival and attract more tourists this year.
It was widely discussed to Invite Honable, Governor of Odisha and Honable’ Chief Minister, Odisha.
Collector V.Keerthi Vasan repeated keeping in mind the previous year problems lapses faced by the Core Committee and visitors seating issue in the past bad experience which to avoid this year’s steps are being resolved taken to ensure smooth progress of the festival.
The district Police administration will deploy adequate number of security personnel at Gopalpur for smooth conduct of the festival. Which includes right from Gopalpur junction, upto Sandha Chakka to open air Stage, Security at Male and female zone, security entire ground activity areas and important is Marine Security at Sea Belt, Police Control room trafficcleaance keeping in view heavy rush .
There will be parking and toilet facilities for visitors to the festival. The entire festival will be under CCTV camera surveillance. If required, we will mobilize security personnel from other districts for this festival,” said Berhampur Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr.Sarvana Vivek.
There will be adequate space in between the stalls to avoid fire mishaps, he added.
On priority several cultural troupes from Ganjam and other districts of Odisha will perform at the festival. Artisans and members of women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will display their products at a Pallishree Mela during the four-day beach carnival, added te Collector.
The administration has roped in , Odissi dancers and folk artists from Odisha to perform A series of events including Pallishree Mela, Meena Bazaar, Food Court, and exhibition have been lined up for the mega festival. Apart committee planned to encourage more than 300 Stalls to join.
Simultaneously, the ORMAS is also likely to organise the national level “Palishree Mela” during the fest. In the Mela various women SHGs will showcase their products. Besides cultural programmes by eminent artists will be performed every evening to attract the visitors and tourists, sources said.
During five days different competition like, Rangoli, Volley Ball, Foot Ball boating interestingly the high level committee decided to hold “MASHAL” procession from all “Shakti Peeta”.
Collector Keerthi Vasan has reportedly instructed all the departments and stakeholders to prepare a blue print specifying the various requirements including sanitation, law and order arrangement, repair and renovation of key roads for smooth communication, proper identification and selection of artists, musicians and other cultural groups and provision for their proper accommodation during the fest, nearly five lakh visitors are expected to witness the five-day long mega fest.

In Past years festival the city discussion was even at Pan Shop gossip by the public what we observed they are not giving any importance towards income part, because the festival is organised by the administration, rather they are more serious to know, Amount Paid to Event Management (?).Amount paid Bollywood artist their stay, transportation (?).Amount spent towards Hotel bill, Transport Bill number of private vehicle engaged why and for Whom (?).
