SAMBALPUR: Sambalpur Vigilance P.S.Case No.09 dt.18.05.2020 has been registered against Sri Manas Kumar Das, Accountant, N.A.C. Bijepur, Dist-Bargarh for demanding bribe of Rs.14,000/- from the Complainant Dr. Madan Meher, S/o SebanidhiMeher, Vill- Dhama, Dist-Sambalpur for the preparation of pending bill and issue of cheque towards hiring of Boloro Vehicle No.OD-17P-6918 engaged in the N.A.C. Bijepur.
During investigation, a trap was laid on 19.05.2020. At about 11.40 A.M. as per previous demand the Complainant handed over tainted money of Rs.14,000/- to Sri Das, Accountant who received the same, kept Rs.12,000/- and returned Rs.2,000/- to the Complainant, asked him to handover the amount to the Executive Officer Sri RukmanMeher. Accordingly, the Complainant went to the Chamber of the Executive Officer and offered the amount. The E.O. Sri Meher told the Complainant to keep the amount with the Accountant. On that the complainant again handed over the amount to the Accountant who received back the same. The tainted bribe money of Rs.14,000/-(Rs.12,000/- (+) Rs.2,000/-) was recovered from the possession of accused Sri Das, Accountant and seized in presence of witnesses. Sri Manas Kumar Das, Accountant and Sri RukmanMeher, Executive Officer, both of N.A.C. Bijepur, Dist-Bargarh have been arrested and are being forwarded to the Court.
