Nuapada By-Election Notified; Polling on Nov 11

Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission has officially notified the Nuapada by-election on Monday, setting the stage for a high-stakes political contest.

Nomination filings will be accepted until October 20, followed by scrutiny on October 21. Candidates can withdraw their nominations by October 23, after which the final list will be released. Polling is scheduled for November 11, with results to be declared on November 14.

Major political parties, BJD, BJP, and Congress are mobilizing their resources for the battle ahead. BJD chief Naveen Patnaik is set to chair a crucial meeting to finalize the party’s candidate. Congress has already fielded Ghasiram Majhi, while BJP has not yet declared its nominee.

With all eyes on Nuapada, the by-election promises to be a tightly fought affair, as parties intensify their campaigns to secure the seat.
