PM Modi’s Odisha Rally Shifted From Berhampur To Jharsuguda Amid Heavy Rain Alert

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled public meeting in Odisha on September 27 has been shifted from Berhampur to Jharsuguda in view of the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) heavy rain alert for southern districts.

Jharsuguda BJP MLA Tankadhar Tripathy confirmed on Tuesday that Modi will address a public rally at the Amlipali Ground in Jharsuguda, adding that the entire state was prepared to welcome the Prime Minister.

The rally was originally planned at Chhatrapur in Berhampur. However, the venue was changed after the IMD forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in districts including Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati and Puri on September 27. The department has warned that adverse weather conditions could persist till September 29 due to consecutive low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal.
