Odisha Speaker Calls All-Party Meet on September 16 Ahead of Assembly Session

Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy has convened an all-party meeting on September 16 to chalk out strategies for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Assembly session, which begins on September 18.

The brief monsoon session will run for just seven working days, concluding on September 25. The Speaker is expected to engage leaders from across the political spectrum in discussions aimed at fostering constructive debate and maintaining decorum in the House.

In a parallel directive, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has instructed departmental secretaries to ensure prompt and accurate replies to questions raised during the session. Secretaries have been told to give personal attention to Assembly matters and prepare responses thoroughly.

Officials have also been asked to limit travel during this period. Foreign visits are to be avoided unless absolutely necessary and even domestic trips should be minimised or rescheduled, ensuring that secretaries remain available to support the Assembly proceedings.
