Inauguration of AGILITY 3.0 at Berhampur: A multidisciplinary paediatric Therapy Centre

Berhampur : Today AGILITY 3.0, a multidisciplinary paediatric therapy centre was inaugurated at Gandhinagar 1st Lane, Berhampur. The centre has been founded by Dr Priti Snigdha Senapati and Dr Prabir Kumar Senapati, an occupational therapy specialist couple, having experience of 13 years and 2 centres of excellence functioning at Bhubaneswar for last 13 years. The centre would provide services to children with special needs like sensory integration, behaviour therapy, speech therapy, special education, ADL (Activities of Daily Living) training etc. Honorable MLA, Berhampur Sri K Anil Kumar was the chief guest for the inauguration with Dr Anurupa Senapati, Head, Dept of Occupational Therapy, Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), Olatpur; Professor Dr Rabi Satapathy, senior paediatrician; Smt Jammula Jayalakshmi, Chairperson and Dr Sruti Jammula, Director from Roland Group of Institutes and Dr Sunil Kumar Kota, Endocrinologist from Swasthya Sadan, Berhampur as the guests of honour. MLA Sri K Anil Kumar stressed upon growing prevalence of these disorders and called upon action at both Govt and private level to address this issue with compassion and care. He thanked the founder Dr Priti and Dr Prabir for offering such centre of excellence for people of South Odisha. Dr Anurupa highlighted the importance of sensory therapy starting at a very early age, as early as 1 year of age for the therapy to reap benefit to the beneficiaries to the maximum. Dr Rabi Satapathy expressed concern over lack of such centres for holistic care of these children and was optimistic about future with young occupational therapists coming forward to offer their services to people in distress. Dr Kota opined that timely and multidimension interventions would gradually integrate the children with special needs into social mainstream. Smt Jayalakshmi and Dr Sruti offered their heartfelt thanks to the founders for giving a thought to people of South Odisha by means of this noble gesture on their part

            The founders Dr Priti and Dr Prabir highlighted that the special need children including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often show up in the first two years of life. While symptoms and signs vary, some early red flags include: (a) Social/Communication: Limited eye contact, not responding to name, delayed speech, little use of gestures like pointing or waving; (b) Behavioral: Repetitive movements (like hand-flapping or rocking), unusual play (lining up toys), strong need for routines; (c) Sensory: Over- or under-reaction to sounds, lights, textures, or touch:  (d) Developmental: Regression in speech or social skills after initial progress.Not all children will show every sign, but spotting them early and seeking professional advice can make a big difference. They exuded confidence by stating that Agility 3.0 is designed to be more than just a therapy center – it is a safe, healing space where science meets compassion. Their mission is to empower individuals with effective therapies, personalized care, and a journey toward complete well-being. They assured that the newly launched center will focus on Advanced Therapeutic Practices like modern techniques for physical, mental, and emotional wellness; Personalized Programs tailored plans to suit individual needs and Holistic Healing which would integrate science and empathy for long-term recovery.Agility 3. 0 Therapy Center would be committed to improving lives through specialized therapies, patient-centered care, and innovative rehabilitation practices. With the launch of Agility 3.0, the center expands its vision of bringing quality care closer to the community.

            The launch event was graced by people from various walks of life including esteemed dignitaries, healthcare professionals, occupational therapists and well-wishers including Dr Priyanka Dash, Head, Pulmonology, MKCG Medical College; Dr Sridhar Murty, senior paediatrician; Dr Alekh Pradhan, Senior paediatrician from City Hospital, Berhampur. The visitors also hoped that with a dedicated team of expert therapists and state-of-the-art facilities, Agility 3.0 Therapy Center would certainly aim to set new benchmarks in holistic care, rehabilitation, and wellness in the region.
