Health Awareness Campaign by Ganjam District Police
Chhatrapur, 22/05/2025: A health awareness and screening camp was conducted today at the premises of Ganjam District Police, at its Chhatrapur office in association with Swasthya Sadan, Berhampur. Sri Suvendhu Kumar Patra, IPS, SP, Ganjam presided over the session, where Dr Sunil Kumar Kota, Endocrinologist and Diabetes, Thyroid Superspecialist from Swasthya Sadan joined as the Resource person. The camp focussed on life style disorders including Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity and other hormonal ailments like Thyroid disorders.
Initially there was an interactive question and answer session by Dr Sunil Kota with the staff of Ganjam District Police followed by screening for Diabetes and Hypertension, where more than 160 police personnel availed the opportunity. Dr Sunil Kota spoke about prevention and treatment of Diabetes, Hypertension calling for heightened awareness on the part of people at large towards timely detection and treatment to reduce the chances of complications. Reserve Inspector, Sri Amulya Jena & Assistant RI, Sri Bikash Senapati were among others to attend the meeting. SP Sri Suvendhu K Patra, thanked Dr Sunil Kota and his team of volunteers for this noble gesture on their part. Later Dr Sunil Kota proposed to screen all the police personnel under Ganjam District Police at all the respective 26 police stations across the district, to which SP Sri Suvendhu agreed with a note of thanks.
