Live Bombs Found On Over bridge In Berhampur; Five arrested

Berhampur(21/05/2025) : Five live bombs,eight swords and Iron rods were discovered on the Kamapalli overbridge near Berhampur Circle jail boundary wall in, sparking panic among locals.
The Baidyanathpur police station was informed, and a team arrived at the scene to investigate. A bomb disposal squad was also called in to defuse the improvised bombs.
According to source,some weapons like swords,Iron rods liquor bottles, tobacco pouches, and water bottles were found lying beside the bombs. These were seized by police.
The locals are frightened, and a crowd has gathered at the spot. The bomb disposal team is working to safely defuse the bombs .Initially the police was serious to know. The motive behind placing the bombs and the identity of the person responsible remains unclear. During the duration clearing the root of the investigation the Baidyanathpur police successfully arrested five hardcore antisocial following the recovery of Bombs & and swords near Berhampur Jail
Accused Persons identified as;Nilamadhaba Sahu @ Bhabani(24),of vill-Dakhinapur, Bada Sahi, Kalia Das @ Gaura(20), of Bauri Sahi Phulta,akhandi, Berhampur.,Dinabandhu Das @ Chota (20), of Bauri Sahi Phulta, , Berhampur., Mani Rao( 23), of Prem Nagar 1st lane, Berhampur, and Prabhat Das(23),of Bhabandha, Bandha Sahi, Berhampur..
According to Superintendent of Police Berhampur;On dated.17.05.2025 during evening patrolling Lanjipalli outpost team received credible information from sources that three number suspected bombs are kept bellow the over bridge near Circle jail Berhampur. Getting information staff members of Lanjipalli OP & Police team of Baidhyanadpur Police Station lead by Ms.Suchitra Parida,IIC, Offocers Dipti Ranjan,Bijoy Kumar,GG,Jena others immediately rushed to the spot and found three live bombs kept bellow the over bridge near Circle jail Berhampur.
On thorough round the corners search of the spot another 5 swords lying hidden inside a gunny bag by the side of the pillar of the over bridge.(!).
The bomb disposal squad visited the spot and took three numbers of live bombs to an isolated place and diffused the same.
The further course of investigation the e noted 5 accused persons were arrested and examination.
While interacted with S.P, Dr. Sarvana Vivekek.M., IPS, that the accused Nilamadhaba Sahu @ Bhabani disclosed he motivated his other associates and planned to murder one Rama Krushna Nahak of Dakhinapur who was arrested and forwarded in a murder case under Sadar Police station.
They came to know that he is about to release on bail from Berhampur Circle jail. Rama Krushna Nahak was arrested and forwarded in Sadar PS case No.296 dtd.17.09.2024 for committing murder of one Sibasis Choudhury of Lanjia who is his best friend.
to take revenge he along with his associates conspired and planned to commit murder of Rama Krushna Nahak when he released on bail from jail. Getting information regarding release of accused Rama Krushna Nahak on bail on dtd.17.05.2025 evening they conspired and planned to murder him. Dr.Vivek added.
In this connection a Case registered on dated.17.05.2025 U/s.310(4)(5) BNS r/w Sec.25 Arms Act/ Sec.4/5 E.S Act
Today(Wednesday) all the five accused persons are arrested and forwarded. Further investigation is going on to arrest the other accused persons.
