RECORD-BREAK TRP RATING OF REPEAT TELECAST OF RAMAYANA REQUIRES TO BE REGISTERED IN GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS

DELHI:Repeat telecast of Ramayana serial during lock-down period in the year 2020 after its original telecast in the year 1987 has vastly bypassed all earlier records of TRP-ratings of TV programmes with average 15.5 TRP rating for repeat telecast of Ramayana against usual 4 – 5 TRP highest TRP rating normally as per data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India. It was yet other record when 77 million TV viewers watched episode of Ramayana telecast on 16.04.2020. Incidentally serial with second highest TRP rating was Mahabharat during its repeat telecast in lockdown period.
Doordarshan should approach Guinness World Record for getting marvellous TRP rating records of Ramayana registered in Guinness Book of World Records. It will make Ramayana popular in other countries also if dubbed in other languages of the world. Teaching of Ramayana are still more relevant for humanity and mankind globally. Interestingly same Ramayana serial by Ramanand Sagar is so popular that private TV channel Colours has again started its telecast soon after Doordarshan completed its repeat telecast during lockdown.
