NALCO Posts Record Net Profit of Rs.1,583 Crore in Q3 – FY 2024-25

Bhubaneswar : National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has reported its highest-ever net profit of ₹1,583 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25. This is a three-fold increase from the net profit of Rs.488 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal. The company’s net profit for the first nine months of FY 2024-25 also reached a record high of Rs.3,246 crore, compared to Rs.1,044 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

NALCO’s impressive performance is attributed to factors such as higher sales volume, favorable market conditions, and robust price management. The company’s total income for the third quarter of FY 2024-25 stood at ₹4,761 crore, up 39% from Rs.3,398 crore in the same period last year.

NALCO’s CMD, Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, credited the company’s success to its dedicated workforce, improved operational efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced product quality. The record earnings in the third quarter were primarily driven by lower raw material costs, increased sales of alumina and aluminium, and the utilization of captive coal mines.

The company is currently focusing on the speedy completion of various projects, including the 5th stream refinery expansion, operationalization of the Pottangi mines, brownfield expansion of the smelter plant, and the planned CPP expansion.

NALCO has also declared a second interim dividend of Rs.4 per equity share for the financial year 2024-25.
