Jindal Steel & Power Celebrates 76th Republic Day at Angul

Angul: Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) celebrated the 76th Republic Day on Sunday at the newly built sports complex inside Jindal Nagar, Angul. JSP’s Chairman and three-time Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, Haryana, Sri Naveen Jindal, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Sri Pankaj Malhan, Angul Location Head and Executive Director (In-Charge), Sri Damodar Mittal, Executive Director (Projects), and other senior officials of the company and the local community members.

Following the flag hoisting, the National Anthem, and the inspection of the contingents and march past, Sri Naveen Jindal addressed the gathering and congratulated the Citizens for upholding the dignity of the Constitution of India consistently for the last 75 years.

In his speech, Sri Jindal emphasised the importance of personal discipline and the responsibility for the nation. He urged everyone to prioritise their health and the environment. “Discipline begins with oneself. If we do not take care of our health and surroundings, how can we aspire to be responsible citizens and contribute to the progress of our nation,” stated Sri Jindal.

He also expressed gratitude to all the teachers, armed forces, and security personnel of the country for their tireless dedication and efforts in making the country proud.

Highlighting JSP’s commitment to sustainability, Sri Jindal spoke about the company’s focus on green steel production and its ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2047.

The celebration featured vibrant patriotic performances by students of O.P. Jindal School and DAV-Savitri Jindal School, which attracted enthusiastic applause from the audience.

In his vote of thanks, Sri Pankaj Malhan thanked Sri Naveen Jindal Ji for travelling from Kurukshetra, Haryana, to grace the occasion. “This is the first major event held at JSP’s newly constructed stadium, which will soon host various sports events,” said Mr. Malhan.

Mr. Malhan reiterated JSP’s commitment and nation-building initiatives aligning with the theme of the year, “Swarnim Bharat-Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India—Heritage and Development).

Republic Day was also celebrated at other locations, including O.P. Jindal School, Utkal-C Mines, Shree Dham Power Plant, DAV-Savitri Jindal School, and O.P. Jindal Community College, Angul, with active participation from students, employees, and local villagers parading their patriotic spirit.
