Dispute Between Servitors Continues to Stall Rituals At Lingaraj Temple For 3rd Day
Bhubaneswar: The rituals at the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar continued to be stalled on Wednesday for the third consecutive day due to the continuing dispute two groups of servitors.
According to sources, no customary rituals of the deity have been performed since Monday evening. The discord between the Badu Nijog and Brahmana Nijog has not been resolved. Because of it, all religious activities inside the Lingaraj temple including daily rites and offerings of the deities have not been perfomed.
To end the disruption of rituals, the Brahmana Nijog of the temple has called up an urgent meeting with the temple’s trustee board. They have also urged the state Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan to intervene and end the impase.
