Odisha Puts Hold on 4th Phase Disbursal of Subhadra Yojana Funds

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has deferred the release of the 4th phase funds under the Subhadra Yojana, originally scheduled for December 25. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida cited an ongoing verification process as the reason for the delay.

In a statement, the Deputy CM urged all eligible beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC via the biometric process to avail of the scheme’s benefits. According to Parida, approximately 5.11 lakh applicants are yet to complete biometric e-KYC or have used the OTP method, which does not fulfil the verification criteria.

The e-KYC process is being facilitated at Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Mo Seva Kendras (MSKs). Beneficiaries must visit these centres with their Aadhaar number or acknowledgement receipt and ensure their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts are enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Parida emphasised that the biometric e-KYC process is free of cost.

The Odisha government has also taken strict action against CSCs violating Subhadra Yojana norms. While 52 CSCs have been blacklisted for negligence, complaints have been lodged against 14 others for allegedly charging applicants.

Previously, the state disbursed the 3rd phase of funds to 20 lakh women beneficiaries on November 24, benefiting a total of 80 lakh women under the scheme so far. The government aims to cover 1 crore beneficiaries by the end of December. In earlier phases, 60 lakh women received funds, with 25 lakh beneficiaries covered on September 17 and another 39 lakh on October 9.
