Odisha CM Tables Rs. 12,156 Cr Supplementary Budget; Focus on Welfare, Development

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also serves as the Finance Minister, tabled a supplementary budget of ₹12,156 crore in the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday.

The budget prioritises public welfare and developmental projects by reallocating resources and leveraging tied-up funds from various sources

1. Public Infrastructure and Security

– ₹125 crore for hosting Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar.

– ₹299 crore for deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

– ₹51 crore for installing CCTV systems at police stations and outposts.

– ₹60 crore for modernising fire services.

2. Welfare Schemes

– ₹92 crore for Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA).

– ₹142 crore for Minimum Needs Programme under Constituency Wise Allocation.

– ₹120 crore for disaster risk mitigation.

3. Farmers’ Welfare and Food Security

– ₹80 crore for renovating defunct lift irrigation projects.

– ₹130 crore for sustainable groundwater harnessing.

– ₹91 crore for Rashtriya Pashudhan Vikas Yojana (White Revolution).

– ₹66 crore for flood control and drainage systems.

4. Healthcare Initiatives

– ₹644 crore for Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana.

– ₹10 crore for health awareness campaigns.

5. Women and Child Empowerment

– ₹1,196 crore for Subhadra Yojana.

– ₹25 crore for Mission Shakti Samarthya.

– ₹24 crore for State support to ICDS.

6. Cultural and Religious Development

– ₹26 crore for Srimandira Parikrama project.

– ₹5 crore for Ratnabhandara of Lord Jagannath Temple.
