Odisha Chief Secretary holds review meeting for disbursement of third phase first installment of Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar: As announced by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, the State government will disburse the first installment of the third phase of the Subhadra Yojana to around 20 lakh beneficiaries on November 24. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja chaired a review meeting in this regard today at Lok Seva Bhavan.

Senior officials, including Development Commissioner-Cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department Shubha Sharma took part in the meeting physically while District Collectors, Additional District Magistrates, Sub Collectors, and Block Development Officers (BDOs) from all districts joined virtually.

During the meeting, officials were instructed to address the issues faced by beneficiaries whose payments were delayed due to issues with bank and Aadhaar linking. Any errors detected during the digital payment process through the National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI) will be investigated.

The review also established a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure a transparent verification process. Block-level verification committees led by BDOs, committees in municipal areas chaired by Executive Officers, and committees in municipal corporations chaired by the Municipal Commissioner will screen applications before forwarding verified lists to district Collectors for final approval and submission to the department.

To further support beneficiaries, Subhadra Help Desks are operational in all districts, and field-level verification teams will confirm applications on-site to ensure accurate disbursement. Chief Secretary Ahuja stressed the importance of transparency and impartiality in the verification process to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements.

It is to be noted here that over one crore applications have been received under the Subhadra Yojana, and nearly 60 lakh beneficiaries were given the first installment of Rs 5,000 each in the first two phases.
