ODISHA IS NOW HAVING THE NEW CHIEF JUSTICE, MOHANMMAD RAFIQ WHO SWORN IN TODAY

BHUBANESWAR:Today Mohammad Rafiq has taken the oath of 31st Chief justice of Odisha and he was administered the oath of office by Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Ganeshi Lal at the Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Rafiq was born in the year 25th May, 1960 in Sujangarh, Churu, Rajasthan. Previously he was servicing as chief justice of Meghalaya High Court. Before joining the Bar and started practicing in the year 1986 as an Advocate, he completed his B.Com in 1980, LL.B in 1984 and Master’s degree in 1986 from the University of Rajasthan.
He had also represented Union of India as standing counsel before the Rajasthan High Court. In the year 1987 on January 7th he was appointed Deputy Government Advocate for the state of Rajasthan. From there he went on to become Justice at the Rajasthan High Court in the year 2008. Then he was elevated to the post of Chief Justice of Meghalaya High court in the year 2019. This oath ceremony was organized keeping in mind social distancing to fight corona and few selected senior dignitaries were present in the oath taking ceremony among them Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Abhay, DG of Police are the few ones other than political leaders from both ruling and opposition parties.
