Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation CEO resigns
Bhubaneswar : The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) chief executive officer (CEO) Siba Prasad Samantaray has tendered his resignation.
He tendered his resignation as the Odisha government did not extend his tenure.
Samantaray was appointed as CEO of the BMRC in July 2023 for a period of one year by the then BJD government. His tenure ended on July 31.
The BMRC as General Manager (Administration) Prasanna Kumar Sarangi will temporarily manage the responsibilities of the CEO till the state government announces further appointment.
The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail project is expected to be functional by the end of 2027, said Odisha Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats Pvt. Ltd. (ICT) has released the first picture of Bhubaneswar metro station after it won the bid for Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1 project’s Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract BCDD-02 by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
The company has released the design of Bhubaneswar metro station and its adjoining markets. It will make design of the metro project from Biju Patnaik Airport to Phulapokhari Depot and its Operational Control Centre (OCC)’s architectural, electrical & mechanical (E&M), traction and civil works.
