BERHAMPUR:On Tuesday evening at about 09.30 P.M IIC Baidyanathpur PS Mr Sarada Prasana Dash,IIC Sumanta Kissan lead by SDPO ,City Mr B.Pati had launched a crackdown against illegal hooch at Jaleswarpur near Lanjpalli Bye pass.
Acting upon definite information, the Police officials of BN Pur raided the house at Jaleswarpur near Lanjpalli Bye pass.
The definite raid was conducted very dramatically all the Cops entered to the Bricks Industry without uniform and the team represent as buyer and paid them Rs.4000/- as per the confirmed source. The raid was conducted under the direction of SP, Berhampur Mr Pinak Mishra.
Sources from Police reflected, Mr Sarada Prasana Dash,IIC,BN Pur he and staff raided a brick factory in side which illegal distillation /packaging of country liquor was going on at two places.
During raid 4740 litres of Country liquor Suspected to be adulterated with noxious material kept in 20 litres of plastic jerkin and polythene pouch, 23800 litres of POCHA ,02 nos of Packaging machine ,Cash of Rs.12,290/- (Sale proceed of liquor) ,4 nos of polythene Roll without Government label etc have been seized in presence of Executive Magistrate. The liquor was being illegally distillated during lockdown period in the Desi Bhatti and sold to vendors.
In this connection B.N Purps case no 109/2020 u/s 272/273/34 Ipc/52(a) Odisha Excise Act has been registered. The Desi Bhatti owner BhaskarSahu and 14 others those engaged in distillation have been arrested. The accused persons are identified as BhaskarSahu (61) of Aurobindnagar 2nd Lane, Berhampur(Owner),Manas Jal (50) of Balipadar,of Balangir,Arjuna Bachha(40) Tupaudar,Balangir,ChampeswarBachha (26) Tupaudar, of Balangir,Kailash Jal (18) of Balangir,Nasik bag (19) of village Podasal, Sindhikela, Balangir,Tejram Bag (20) of village Tupaguda, Balangir,Bidio Jal (26) of Village Baliapadar, Balangir, Kunja Jal (36) of village Baliapadar, Balangir,LokanathaThopa (20) of village Debhuin, Balangir, Dambaru Serma (19) of village Debhuin,Balangir,Sudhirjal (27) of village Baliapadar,- Balangir,Prafulla Kumar Das (61) of Chaursh, Puri.Dipu Das (21) of Nua Bauri Sahi, Khodasingi, PS- B N Pur, Dist- Ganjam.
