Buses gutted to ashes at Bissam Cuttack due to inferno
Badal Tah, Odishabarta,Rayagada, 01-06-2024 : Four buses, all named Vedamata, of one owner were completely gutted due to fire while waiting at Bissam Cuttack bus stand. The firemen reached the spot and started their operation to take control of the inferno. The buses were standing beside each other. Initially one bus caught fire and then it spread to the other buses. The reason could be intense heat, but the exact reason is yet to be confirmed. The inquiry by the local police is in progress. No one died as there were no passengers in the buses. As many bus stands in Rayagada are getting renovated as smart bus stands, the fire safety is a serious concern. Rayagada head quarter’s bus stand is ill equipped with mandatory fire safety mechanisms.
