Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Files Nomination from Kantabanji Assembly Seat

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Chief Minister and the BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Thursday filed nomination papers for the Kantabanji Assembly constituency in Balangir district.

On April 29, he had filed his nomination papers from the Hinjli assembly seat in the Ganjam district.

To file his nomination papers, the Odisha CM reached Titlagarh City High School ground in a helicopter. He reached the local sub-collector’s office to submit his nomination papers. He was accompanied by several senior leaders of the BJD including the 5T chairman VK Pandian.

Around 15 platoon police force and six DSPs were deployed for maintenance of law and order during the CM’s visit to Titlagarh.

Naveen Patnaik is contesting from the Kantabanji seat for the first time. In 2019, the Congress candidate Santosh Singh Saluja had won from Kantabanji, which is said to be a Congress stronghold.

This time it will be a big fight between Saluja and Naveen Patnaik in Kantabanji.
