CUO to host International Conference on Beyond Horizons: Exploring the World in World Literature
Koraput,( Nishapati Nayak) The Department of English Language & Literature at the Central University of Odisha is proud to announce the organization of an International Conference titled “Beyond Horizons: Exploring the World in World Literature.” The conference is scheduled to take place on 7-8 March 2024 at the university campus in Sunabeda, Koraput. The academic programme of the aforesaid conference will be inaugurated by Prof. Chakradhar Tripathi, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Odisha.
The keynote speakers of the programme are Prof. Bill Ashcroft, Professor Emeritus, School of the Arts and Media, UNSW, Sydney, Australia; Prof. David Damrosch, Department of Comparative Literature, Harvard University, USA; Prof. Alan Johnson, Department of English and Philosophy, Idaho State University, USA and Prof. N. C. Panda, Dean, School of languages, CUO for the two-day International Conference. Prof. N. Nagaraju, the Vice-Chancellor of Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur is the ‘Guest of Honour’ to the conference on the inaugural function. Dr. Nirjharini Tripathy, HoD, Department of English Language and Literature is the Convener of the Conference.
The conference aims to provide a platform for scholars, researchers, academicians, and literary enthusiasts from around the globe to engage in discussions and share insights on the diverse dimensions of world literature. With a focus on transcending geographical and cultural boundaries, “Beyond Horizons” seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of literary works from various corners of the world.
