Man arrested in Extortion & Threaten to Death Charges by Berhampur Police

Berhampur:On Thursday based on the written report of one middle aged person Pintu Bisoyi (41) of village Gaunj, under Gopalpur police station that one Muktesh Sahu who one of the habitual anti-social, goon extorted cash Rs. 15,000/- from the Complainant by threatening him with death on NH-16 near Pathara over bridge. The incident happened after a minor accident took place near the over bridge.
In this context of serious the Gopalpur Police registered a case against Muktesh Sahu on Thursday U/S 294/386/506/34 IPC.
During course of investigation, on getting intelligence input the Gopalpur,PS IIC,Bibekananda Swain and Baidyanathpur,PS, IIC Baba Shankar Saraf with their police teams jointly cordon the house and technically picked the accused Muktesh Sahu today around 09.AM within short notice from his rented house at Rama Nagar, Berhampur and Cash Rs. 5000/- was recovered from the exclusive possession.
On interrogation, he confessed the formula how to commit such type of the crime for self illegal gain.
Berhampur SP,Dr.Sraravana Vivek,M passed a message action against anti-socials demanding extortion will be more stringent in days to come under Berhampur Police District and the police officers of the City will assist the anti-extortion activity.

Notably, The accused Muktesh Sahu is previously involved in six cases mainly at Gosaninuagaon, Police station, Berhampur.
However, he is currently out in bail but the investigation of the case is continuing.
