Berhampur, (15/12/23): Based on criminal intelligence and investigation, the Berhampur Police with valuable technical inputs, arrested four Inter-state burglars on Friday.
While briefing to Media Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.said, a series of burglary cases were detected by Berhampur district police.
During investigation police detected a team of inter-state burglars and property receivers.
Police arrested the main accused Sania Gouda (47) of Berhampur ,Old Berhampur and three others stolen gold receivers Mohan Padhy,Branch Manager of Muthoot Finance,Sano Bazar,Santosh Gaikwad M/s.Biraja Gold Testing Centre expert on testing melting of Sano Bazar,Berhampur origin from Maharastra and Surendra Mohapatra of Gaigotha street, Berhampur (Silver receiver) and seized gold and silver from their possession.
Careful investigation being conducted in context, the main task is identification of the victims and the police team did.
Further investigation suggested the involvement of accused persons in 16 burglary cases and all the stolen gold and silver were returned to the rightful owners in a program organised at the office of S.P., Berhampur today.
SS.Mohapatra,SDPO Sadar, Bibekananda Mohanto,IIC, Golanthara PS, Ms.Anita Sahu,IIC,Sadar, PS and, Ms.Rebati Sabar,IIC,Nimakhandi,PS were present during the meet.
Gold weighing 1320.05g and silver weighing 400g were handed over to the rightful owners by Berhampur Police. The details of victims and the quantity of gold/silver returned to them are provided below. Senior citizens thanked the police team.
The investigation is still continuing and police confident the other stolen cases will come to front very soon. he added.
