Illicit Relationship Results Murder-Four Arrested in Berhampur

Berhampur:Four Persons have been arrested by Golonthara Police under Berhampur Police distric.
On Monday a complainant was wedged by Sumati Naik, age-32, W/o-Late Tutu Naik of Village ,Gobindapur, under Golantahra police station alleged that her husband was missing from her home since 18.11.2023 AM. In connection Golonthara Police registered a case u/s-302/201/34 IPC.
The arrested have been identified as; Kanha Das, age-23, S/o-Santosh @ Pagala, Das
Ganesh @ Gania Das, age-27, S/o- S/o-Santosh @ Pagala Das, Santosh @ Pagala Das, age-58, S/o-late Baya Das and Sunita @ Sumita Das, age-29, D/o-Santosh @ Pagala Das ,All of village Chandapur- Bali Sahi, PS-Golanthara, Ganjam of the village-Chandapur-Bali Sahi, PS-Golanthara.
Police have seized the weapons of offences were also hide at different places which were seized.The bike of the deceased was also thrown inside the Masanibandha pond of Chandapur which was also recovered. The body has been sent for autopsy.
In a statement a senior police officer said, on that day one Sumita Das of Village,Chandapur had called him to Chandapur and her husband had been to there and did not return (!).
So, she and her relatives searched for him. On date Monday and she found tragically the dead body of her husband Tutu Naik in a abandoned well of Chandapur wrapped in a Jerry bag.
So, she suspected that Sumita Das and her family members murdered and dumped his dead body in the well.
On the strength of the report police rapidly started their investigated into.
The Investigation revealed that the lady Sumita Das was deserted by her husband and had affair with deceased Tutu Naik and both belong to different caste. This affair was creating tension in the woman’s family. The family members also opposed it (!).
But, the deceased promised them that he will soon marry her. He was deferring the marriage for last 6 years showing various reasons.
So, in order to stop such illicit relationship, the three sons of the accused father Santosh Das namely Kanha Das, Ganesh Das, Raju Das and Sunita Das planned to murder Titu Naik.
On 18.11.23 Sunita Das called Titu Naik to come behind Chandapur PUP School at 07 PM. While the deceased Titu Naik arrived there on his Pulsar bike and met Sunita Das, the other accused persons three sons and their father assaulted him by means of Balhi-Sticks and Katua.
Due to the assault Titu Naik received head injuries and died at the spot. In order to disappear the evidences of the murder the accused persons carried the dead body of the deceased from the PUP School Chandapur and dumped it in an abandoned well near the Panibandha pond of Chandapur by wrapping it with a plastic gunny bag.
On 18.11.2023 while the husband of the complainant Titu Naik did not return home his wife had lodged one MMR at Golantahra PS on 19.11.23 vide PS MMR No-63/2023.
Leading to Titu Naik killing serious efforts are undertaken by the police and rest follow-Ups are under pipeline, Officer added.
The Investigation of the case is in progress, 4 accused persons were arrested and one is absconding.
