BERHAMPUR: Collector Ganjam invited an emergency press meet to present some vital points and to create wide circulation among the people in Ganajm.

While addressing to press on Monday evening Collector Mr Vijay Amruta Kulange, said that, as corona virus spreads across the globe, people returning from outside the State are becoming targets of anger and resentment in many blocks in Ganjam district.

He has raised some point which needs to implement from Tuesday onwards till further order. He categorically highlighted that other than essential service like grocery shops, vegetable vendors are allowed only from 7 AM to 4 PM after that they should shut down. Only Medicine stores are allowed for 24X7 services. Other business establishments are not allowed in Ganjam district, as the district administration determined.

No two/three wheelers, and other automobiles are allowed on road other than essential commodities transporting vans.

Attending media regarding moment of press people, in his reply he said we have arranged pass system for Press people for news coverage.

Those coming from outside the State should examine their health condition at primary health centres (PHCs) or hospitals in their respective areas. If anything is found suspicious, local doctors should inform the control room.

Kulage said persons returning from their places of work should be allowed to live in their respective homes and maintain adequate distance from others for a period of 14 days. If anyone develops cough, cold and fever, he/she should go to the nearby PHC or health facilities and get examined.

In a separate release Mr Pinak Mishra SP,Berhampur requested public to refrain from taking law into their hands.Mishra appealed for discarding the prejudice against the visiting persons and maintaining peace and brotherhood in the times of crisis. He has directed all police stations in his police district to take stern action against rumour mongers and those spreading fake news on coronavirus.
