G20 Janbhagidari Youth Fair was organized by FTBI, NIT, Rourkela

ROURKELA: Foundation for Technology & Business Incubation (FTBI), NIT, Rourkela had conducted G20 Jan Bhagidhari Youth Fair at the Technology innovation and Industry Relations Building, NIT, Rourkela on 16th April,2023.  This Fair was being organized to inspire the youth to explore career in entrepreneurial research and innovative startups.  This fair was attended by around 200 students from 35 schools in Sundergarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh where they exhibited their innovative work projects. Startup incubated in FTBI-NIT, Rourkela also displayed their products. This event started with a welcome address by the CEO of FTBI, Mr. Chiranjibi Samal, Prof. Manoj Kumar Mishra  (Head of FTBI Centre) who briefed about key roles of FTBI for incubated startups at NIT, Rourkela. Mr.Pawan Kumar Gupta, Joint Director & Head of office, MSME-Development Industries, Cuttack was the keynote speaker and he guided the student about the different schemes by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He also emphasizes on how youth of the country should think of entrepreneurships, whether in manufacturing or service sector. And try to build their own venture so that they may have a source of income and also can create employment. Another speaker of the event Prof.Arun Isloor (NIT, Suratkal) joined the youth fair to address on topic of ‘Water Purification”.

He, in his address said, Sometimes great ideas originate in university campuses, hence, we have to convert those ideas into useful products. He also cited the examples of Facebook with FTBI-NIT, Rourkela; you have an opportunity to present your idea. Keynote speaker Prof. Vasudeva M ,(NIT-Suratkal) also interacted with the students and said, I am here for a workshop in Waste Management. We are facing many day –to- day problems; how we should solve these problems through entrepreneurship is so important to build a sustainable environment. Prof.Umamaheshwar Rao (Director, NIT, Rourkela) graced the event as Chief Guest and said, we need to find sustainable ways of generating electricity.

As one of India’s priorities is to reduce carbon footprint, hence, I urge you to think about ways to supplement non-renewable energy resources like coal, fossil fuels etc. The workshop ended with certificate distribution to all school students and winners of the Innovation Competition organized earlier.
