RPF GETS STRENGTHENED IN RAYAGADA RAILWAYS

Rayagada, March 28: Rayagada has been declared as a Railway Division for which there is a steady progress of work since Sri Aswini Vaishnav paid a visit to Rayagada two years back. Recently Railway Protection Force of Waltair Division received nine state of the art two-wheelers for effective patrolling in the crucial work spots of the Division including Rayagada & to enhance the mobility of field personnel at the ground level.. The vehicles were handed over to the RPF staff by Divisional Railway Manager(DRM) Shri Anup Satpathy during a function.
It is part of the motorization happening in Railway Protection Force. These two wheelers shall be distributed to various RPF units in the division and they greatly help in enhancing patrolling in vulnerable sections, easy and quick movement in hill area of Koraput –Rayagada line, Rayagada-Vizianagaram section, Kottavalasa-Kirandul Line and other important locations. Sri Pankaj Gangwar, Principal Chief Security Commissioner cum IG/East Coast Railway had played a significant role in early procurement of these two wheelers.
The motor cycles were flagged off by Shri Anup Satpathy, DRM in presence of Shri Chokka Raghuveer, Sr.DSC/RPF/WAT. Speaking on the occasion DRM said that “While discharging duties in trains and at railway station premises, RPF do have to chase criminals at times. There are crucial locations in the Division in remote areas for which these two-wheelers will give an edge to the RPF unit.”
Adding yet another feather to the cap of number of trains plying through Rayagada & in order to clear extra rush railways decided to run train No. 08512 Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Navratri special express from Jagdalpur to Bhubaneswar (one trip only) for Navratri Festival. It will leave Jagdalpur at 11:00 hrs which will reach Bhubaneswar on the next day 04:30 hrs. This pair of special trains will have stoppages at Kotpad Road, Jeypore, Koraput, Damanjodi, Tikri, Rayagada, Lanjigarh Road, Norla Road, Kesinga, Titlagarh, Balangir, Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Rairakhol, Boinda, Anugul, Talcher Road and Dhenkanal between the Jagdalpur and Bhubaneswar stations. These trains will have the composition of ICF coaches of One 3rd AC, Sixteen Sleeper Class and Two second class sitting cum luggage/ Divyangjan coaches. A K Tripathi, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager People has requested people to make use of these special train services.
Denizens of Rayagada district have applauded the efforts of Railways under the leadership of DRM Satpathy for making Rayagada a Rail Hub prior to a fully functional Railway Division.
