Jubilant Indian Hockey team’s best effort against England couldn’t bring result; World Cup Hockey
Rajesh Mohapatra, OdishabartaROURKELA: The Hockey World cup is running with high voltage in Rourkela and the people in and around is all anxious to see Indian team winning this world cup but many good teams are there to throw challenges. But performance of Indian tam in last two matches including today’s match is highly encouraging. Today India played its second match against FIH 3rd ranked team England in Birsa Munda International hockey Stadium in Rourkela. Today two matches were played. The first match was played at 3pm between Spain and Wales, where Spain had beaten Wales by 5-1 goals. The second match was high voltage match between India and England at 7pm. Which kick stated with huge noise by the crowd present there. Stadium was full and it was so noisy, supporting India that, hardly anyone can hear any conversation sitting next. It was electrifying and match started with great speed. Both the team tried their best to defeat each other but efforts put in, went in vein. Despite several chances received by both the teams to score could not convert to a goal. As usual roads near by the stadium before match were too busy, the volunteers and local administration rightfully handled to pass the visitors into the stadium without any disturbance. In today’s second match Naba Kisore Das, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha was the Chief Guest and honored the Player of the Match to Oliver Payne of England team. He was superb in his game today, exhibited his true talent and saved few hits India team targeted towards the goal post.
